As you have seen in the recent post 'Yoga V.S Contortion' you come to think of

the differences between Gymnastics and Contortion.πŸ˜„

Are they even the same thing?

Happy reading!πŸ˜ƒ

Gymnastics

Gymnastics is a sport that includes physical exercises requiring balance, strength, flexibility, agility, coordination, and endurance.

Contortion

The skill of twisting and bending one's body into strange and unnatural positions,

as a form of entertainment.

Now for the differences!

1.Equipment varies

For gymnastics, the equipment starts with beams,

uneven bars and vault.

Of course these are only a few!

Contortion, on the other hand, consists

of hand balancing canes, aerial hoops and aerial silk, just to name a few.πŸ˜„

2.Flexibility level

For the flexibility level, contortion takes on the lead.

Gymnastics also needs flexibility, But contortion  needs a lot more!

Contortion needs spinal flexibility as you are twisting into different poses.

3.Strength level

Gymnastics needs more strength as the gymnast needs to do a lot of

tumbling,stretching etc.

Contortion needs strength as well but not as much as gymnastics😊

That's all we have for today!

Hope you enjoyed it!πŸ˜„
